Future Foundations Youth Institute (FFYI) is dedicated to preparing foster youth, high school juniors, and seniors in San Bernardino County to thrive in the construction industry. With California facing a shortage of skilled tradespeople, we deliver critical training where it’s needed most.
Our innovative programs provide youth with hands-on instruction in OSHA safety, California Building Codes, and the latest energy efficiency standards. We bridge the gap between education and employment, ensuring students leave school with marketable skills, professional confidence, and industry certifications — paving the way for immediate job placement or further advancement.
FFYI offers workforce readiness, industry certifications, and hands-on construction training—giving youth the skills and credentials to succeed in high-demand trades across Southern California.

Interactive instruction covers core construction skills, from tool identification and measurements to reading blueprints. Training is aligned with industry needs to maximize job opportunities.

Our students master the essentials of California Building Codes and energy efficiency standards, preparing them for rapid transition into regionally in-demand construction roles.

Students earn vital OSHA safety credentials, gaining knowledge of workplace best practices, hazard identification, and compliance, making them workforce-ready from day one.
FFYI’s mission is to provide foster youth and high school seniors with clear, supported pathways to secure, living-wage careers in construction. We equip them with hands-on skills, certifications, and encouragement they need to break cycles of disadvantage and help meet California’s workforce demand—all while building their professional confidence and personal pride.
